A.S Roma to win back-to-back European titles?

Rome, Italy is home to the professional football team Roma. Roma, a club formed by a merger in 1927, has always competed in the top division of Italian football, except for the 1951–52 campaign. Roma has won three Serie A championships—in 1941–42, 1982–83, and 2000–01—along with nine Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana championships. Roma excelled in European competitions, taking home the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1960-61, the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2021–22, and the UEFA Cup in 1983–84 and 1990–91, respectively.

Former player and professional football manager Jose Mourinho is currently Roma's head coach in the Italian Serie A. Mourinho, known as "The Special One" by the British media, is regarded as one of the best managers of all time and is one of the most awarded managers in history. He has won five European titles throughout his career as a manager. He captured his first European title by winning the 2002-03 UEFA Cup with FC Porto. He then won the 2003-04 UEFA Champions League with the same team. He then won a treble with Inter Milan including the 2009-10 UEFA Champions League.

Later, he joined the Red Devils, Manchester United, and ended the club's 7 years of  European trophy drought by winning the 2016-17 Europa League. In the 2022 UEFA Europa Conference League Final, Mourinho defeated Feyenoord on May 24 to win his first championship with A.S Roma. This was Roma's first trophy in 11 years, making him the first manager to complete the UEFA treble by winning the Champions League, UEFA Cup/Europa League, and Europa Conference League (in place of the defunct UEFA Cup Winners' Cup). He joins Udo Lattek and Giovanni Trapattoni as the only other managers to have won all three major European trophies. A Serie A team hadn't won a European title since Inter Milan won the UEFA Champions League in 2009–10 while Mourinho was their coach.

He has maintained his 100% record of winning every major European Cup final as a manager. He continued his legacy as one of the greatest managers ever by taking Roma to back-to-back two  European finals.  After winning the UEFA Conference League with Roma in his very first season with the club, he has now led them to the 2022-23 UEFA Europa League Finals by defeating  Bayer Leverkusen 1–0 on aggregate in the semi-finals of the Europa League. Now, Mourinho will play his 6th European Cup final where his team will face the Europa League favorites, Sevilla. If  Roma defeats Europa League this season, the team will win back-to-back European League and will directly qualify for the next season's Champions League as the Europa League Winners. They now stand in the sixth position on the Serie A league table this season.
